Two-Day Capacity Building Workshop – Vice Chancellors’ Training
Date: 26th to 27th October, 2022
The Sindh HEC organised an executive workshop for the Vice Chancellors of more than 60 public and private universities in Sindh. The main purpose of this workshop was to enhance the capacity and skills of the heads of these higher education institutions.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairperson of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, graced the event as the chief guest.
In his speech, Dr. Ahmed applauded the initiative and stated that such training is essential for enhancing the standards and quality of higher education in the country. He asked the Vice Chancellors to prioritise their work and focus on initiatives that bridge the gap between academia, industry and the society.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of the Sindh HEC, welcomed the participants. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of administrative skills for the leaders of academic institutions.
On the first day of the workshop, informative sessions on SPPRA rules and the planning process for development schemes, budgeting and accounting were conducted by renowned speakers, including Ali Imam Qadri, Dr. Shireen Mustafa and Farid Ahmed Tarar respectively. The closing ceremony was conducted by Chief Secretary Sindh, Dr. Sohail Rajput.
