
Sindh Higher Education Commission Hosts Inaugural Sindh Innovative Startups Exhibition 2025
Karachi, Pakistan – May 27, 2025 – Marking another milestone, the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC), in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), successfully organized the inaugural Sindh Innovative Startups Exhibition 2025. The landmark event, held at the Federation House in Karachi, attracted a distinguished gathering of stakeholders from the academic, business, and diplomatic communities, celebrating the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of Sindh.
The exhibition was graced by the presence of Honorable Mr. Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh, as the Chief Guest. Other esteemed attendees included Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of the Sindh HEC, Prof. Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Chairman CIEC, Sindh HEC, Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI, Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Vice President FPCCI, and Dr. Noman Ahsan, Director General (Coordination & CIEC). Diplomatic representation was notable with the presence of Sami Abdullah Salim Al Khanjari, Consul General of Oman, Nayef Shahein R.M Al-Sulaiti, Consul General of Qatar, and Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi, Consul General of UAE, alongside Vice Presidents of various diplomatic missions. The event also saw participation from prominent educational experts and renowned business leaders such as Muhammad Bashir Janmohammad, Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Junaid ur Rehman, Sham Lal Manglani, Maheen Salman, Asif Sakhi, and Abdul Momin Khan.
The exhibition proudly showcased a diverse range of innovative startups originating from various universities across Sindh, highlighting the exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and creative prowess of the region’s youth. Hundreds of students, educational experts, and university faculty members attended the event, underscoring the growing interest in innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic community. This collaborative initiative between Sindh HEC and FPCCI represents a significant step towards fostering innovation, collaboration, and economic growth through the promotion of startups and entrepreneurial ventures in Sindh.
A highlight of the exhibition was the recognition of top university student startup projects. Five outstanding startups received cash prizes of Rs. 500,000 each from FPCCI, designated for the commercialization and further processing of their inventions and appreciation. These deserving projects included two startups from NED University of Engineering and Technology, one from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), one from Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), and one from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL). The Sindh Higher Education Commission extends its heartfelt congratulations to these innovative students and their respective universities for their remarkable achievements.
