
National Seminar on RIPE Held in Collaboration with JSMU Karachi
Sindh Higher Education Commission in collaboration with Jinnah Sindh Medical University JSMU, organized a one-day national seminar on “Institutional Performance Evaluation Based on the New QA Framework of HEC” on 13 May 2025. The event gathered academic professionals and QEC personnel from across Pakistan in a hybrid format.
The seminar opened with a welcome by Dr. Abdul Wahid Usmani, Director QEC-JSMU, who introduced the concept of RIPE and its importance in institutional accountability. Mr. Salim Uddin, Director of Quality Assurance at Sindh HEC, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the need to shift from compliance to meaningful performance evaluation and the role of capacity building in sustaining academic quality.
A demonstration of the RIPE template developed by QEC-JSMU provided practical insights on aligning institutional practices with HEC standards. The session encouraged dialogue on challenges, solutions, and collaborative strategies to strengthen quality assurance.
The seminar concluded with appreciation for the participants’ active engagement and the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.
