
Orientation Regarding 10th Round of Inspection
The Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) of the Sindh Higher Education Commission (Sindh HEC) conducted an orientation for the 10th Round of Inspections to enhance the quality of public and private sector universities / institutes in Sindh, on September 24, 2025, at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). The event was led by Prof. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Chairman of CIEC, and Mr. Moinuddin Siddiqui, Secretary of Sindh HEC. Prof. Lodi emphasized that the future of higher education in Sindh depends on the quality of education, which can be ensured through a standardized mechanism for assessing public and private sector universities. He highlighted that CIEC and Sindh HEC have undertaken several initiatives to strengthen this mechanism, including this orientation session, which is organized to discuss the objectives, procedures, and its way forward with Vice Chancellors, Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans, Registrars, and Directors of QECs from various institutions across Sindh. He further urged the institutions to work collaboratively to achieve the shared goal of ensuring quality education in the province by enabling the institutions to be capable enough to participate in national and international ranking systems.
Secretary Sindh HEC, Mr. Moinuddin Siddiqui stressed that quality assurance is vital for universities to gain international recognition.
In the event, various speakers gave briefing as under:
• Dr. Abdul Muhammad Wahid Usmani Director QEC JSMU, gave a detailed briefing on the International Ranking System.
• Mr. Saleemuddin Shaikh Director Q.A Sindh HEC, discussed the national ranking framework in Pakistan.
• Dr. Muhammad Wasif, Director QEC NED University of Engineering & Technology, gave a detailed presentation on the revised inspection manual and guidelines.
• Ms. Maria Liaquat, Assistant Director Accreditation – Sindh HEC outlined the criteria for opening new academic programs.
• Mr. Sarfraz Ali Shahani IT Incharge – Sindh HEC, briefed the participants on the digitization of CIEC monitoring forms and its features.
