Sindh HEC holds workshop on impact ranking

KARACHI, October 25: The Sindh Higher Education Commission (Sindh HEC) recently organised a workshop on how to participate in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking.
The workshop was attended by more than hundred Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) professionals and officials from public and private sector universities.
The workshop featured sessions by leading experts in the field, including Dr. Muhammad Abdul Wahid Usmani, Director of QEC at Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Ms. Asfiya Aziz, Additional Director Communication at Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Dr. Jahangir Khan, Ex-Director QEC at the University of Malakand, and Ms. Zeenat Fayyaz, Brand Manager for THE World University Rankings at Times Higher Education, UK.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of Sindh HEC, highlighted the importance of the THE Impact Ranking in fostering positive change through education and research. He emphasised that the ranking encourages universities to direct their efforts towards research and practices that benefit the community, environment, and the world.
Prof. Dr. Rafi further said that the ranking aligns universities’ efforts with global objectives, such as quality education, gender equality, clean water, sustainable cities, climate action, etc.
