Second meeting for collaboration of Russian and Pakistani Universities today
KARACHI, August 30: The second consultation meeting between Sindh Higher Education Commission and the Russian State atomic energy corporation ‘Rosatom’ was held on August 30.
The virtual consultation meeting focused on the possible avenues in the field of renewable energy, inter-university collaboration and train-the-trainers courses and scholarships.
Chairperson Sindh HEC, Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi apprised the gathering about the importance of fostering such collaborative efforts between universities in Pakistan and Russia. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Such collaborative initiatives will help universities become acquainted with their strengths, identify areas of improvement and drive excellence in academia. It is a collective effort of the Sindh HEC and Rosatom towards creating a multidisciplinary higher education landscape in Pakistan.”
Counsellor Natalia Kudryashova represented Rosatom at the meeting where she said, “This collaboration reflects our commitment to academic precision, research, emerging trends in the field of renewable energy, and photovoltaics.”
This meeting was a continuation of the first consultation meeting held between the Sindh HEC and Rosatom on April 28 this year.
Taking into consideration the importance of this virtual consultative meeting, the vice chancellors of a few selected universities from public and private sectors in Sindh were asked to nominate the relevant technical experts of renewable energy from their respective universities to participate in the virtual meeting.
The following universities were invited to participate in the meeting:
1. NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
2. Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
3. Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro.
4. UIT University, Karachi.
5. Dawood University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
6. Aligarh Institute of Technology, Karachi.
7. Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Services & Technology
8. Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Skills Development & Technology, Khairpur Mir’s.
