Planning & Development Workshop

The Sindh HEC organised a day-long training workshop for directors and professionals of the P&D Departments of public sector universities across Sindh. The program, held in the Commission’s Conference Room, had 30 government officials in attendance.

The training program was conducted by Mr. Ijaz Ali Khawaja, a UNDP Consultant, and Mr. Asif Ikram, Secretary of the Information Science and Technology Department of the Government of Sindh.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of Sindh HEC, welcomed the participants and highlighted the expected outcomes and benefits of the course. He said the commission provides various opportunities for the administrators and faculty members of both public and private sector universities.

Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi outlined the efforts and dedication of Sindh HEC towards enhancing the higher education institutions (HEIs) across the province, including the training of QEC specialists and the launch of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) for professors.

During the workshop, the participants were given detailed presentations by Mr. Asif Ikram and Mr. Ijaz Ali Khawaja on designing the development schemes and overcoming barriers.

In the closing remarks, Mr. Moinuddin Siddiqui, Secretary Sindh HEC, commended the attendees for their hard work and acknowledged the valuable knowledge and experiences they had gained. He assured the audience of the commission’s ongoing commitment to improvement of standards in all the universities in the province.

In the last phase of the workshop, the trainees gave their respective feedback, expressing their gratitude to the Sindh HEC for its dedication and commitment to the higher education institutions in the province through innovative training initiatives.

They expressed hope that Sindh HEC will organise similar workshops in the future as well. Â
Later, the trainees received their certificates in recognition of their participation and successful completion of the training program. Â
